The weather is clear but is getting hotter, so hot that we cannot stay down in the hole and have to sleep on deck. At 11 o'clock we sighted land and at noon we passed Ladrone Island but went straight by without stopping. In the afternoon we stopped about 30 minutes and witnessed a funeral on the Colon. It was a usual (standard) ceremony. This day we made 255 miles. Four men are off duty and one in the guard house.
