The weather is fine. We had a good night's sleep and had shore leave from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. We surely enjoyed our stay at Nagasaki which is a nice, clean city. Everything is up-to-date. I went to see all there was to be seen. Everything is rather cheap there. Out money is almost worth double. Horses are a curiosity here. The Japanese are of strong build, good-natured and very industrious fellows, also the females as well.
