This is a beautiful day, nice and cool. I worked until noon at headquarters. In the afternoon, I visited the hospital. All of our Company C patients are getting along fine byt the hospitals are filled to their capacity and hundreds are laying in the hospital tents. The small pox hospital is stationed about a half mile from the main hospital in large tents. About 50 are confined there and the native nurses are attending to them. The Spanish soldiers are getting all vaccinated as are most of the citizens. In the evening, most of us attended church in the Opera House. A lady from Japan, a native from Westmoreland County preached a good sermon to us. [Frank] Hustead, Wilson, [James] Woodward, [Walter] Collins, [Frank] Sullivan and [Alonzo] Becket are on the sick list.
Soldiers mentioned
on this date:
